What’s the Difference between outfits and pajamas?

What’s the difference?!

Please, someone tell me what’s the difference between a one piece baby outfit and a one piece pair of pajamas? This is something that plagues me every day when trying to dress my baby girl.

Ok. This issue dates back to 2003 for me when my wife and I had our first child. Besides dealing with the pressures of having our first child and us not knowing a thing about raising a kid, now I have to add one more thing to my plate of feeling stupid! The only thing I have going for me in this area is that I know I could not have messed my kids up too bad as I have well behaved children. Obviously the clothes (or pajamas) didn’t mess my kids up too bad when I dressed them wrong.

It didn’t take me long to realize that I had no clue what the hell I was doing, but I’m a smart guy and I can also B.S. my way through almost anything! I have a college degree and a good job, but for the life of me, cannot figure out the what’s the difference between an outfit and pajamas! Can you tell? If so, how?

Here is a great example straight from Amazon (click on the image to see the image info. Maybe you can deduce further from text or other images):

Now here are the pajamas from Amazon. What’s the difference other than the flap for the zipper? Really?

OK. Here are a few examples from clothes I have for my daughter:

I know this is a set of pajamas. The no feet part is a giveaway! What's the difference - TFDS Bag

What about this one? To me, since this has no feet, I would think it’s an outfit.

Now this one stumped me! It has feet. It looks like pajamas, but it also looks like it could be an outfit.

Once again! I haven’t the slightest clue!

If anyone has any input on this, I would love to hear it! I would really like to know what’s the difference between them!
